Bhramari Pranayam
The word Bhramari is derived from Sanskrit word 'Bhramar' (humming bee), this is because while performing this pranayam one sounds like a humming bee.
Method - How to do Bhramari Pranayam?
- Sit in a suitable posture like Padmasan.
- Cover both the ears by pressing the thumbs of both your hands.
- Place your index fingers on the forehead and let the remaining 3 fingers close/cover your eyes.
- Inhale through both the nostrils, taking - a real slow deep breath.
- Exhale through both nostrils and while exhaling use the throat to make a soft sound, like the buzzing of a bee, while reciting “OM” mentally. Keep the mouth closed while exhaling.
- This completes on cycle of Bhramari pranayam. Repeat this excercise as per your capacity.
